Opened in 2020, Houston Botanic Garden transforms a former golf course along Sims Bayou into living classrooms. Stroll one mile of trails through Global, Culinary, and Storm-Water Wetlands collections; linger on shaded boardwalks; or visit at night for large-scale lantern and light festivals. Weekend markets and classes—from beekeeping demos to container design—add fresh reasons to return. Parking is on-site or via the Monroe Park & Ride shuttle; bring water and sun protection, as shade is still growing in.
